Public art, courtesy of various taggers, individuals, and the Metropolitan Transit Authority:

414 Greenwich St., TriBeCa, NY

North side of 415 Greenwich St. (Laight St. side). 1st day it was blank, by the next day, Caroline and Nicole agreed Brad was toast.

Somewhere near Duane Street Park... Corner of Staples Street, TriBeCa, New York.
To many, TriBeCa is a suburban outpost in Manhattan... to the rest of us, it's a neighborhood that bought its soul from the Barneys Co-op.

81st Street subway stop on the B/C line-- Museum of Natural History, south exit toward 77th Street. Funny, I think I work with one of these guys...and another one passed me at the deli. We're all ants.

More from 414 Greenwich St., TriBeCa, New York
This is one of the last outposts in the neighborhood that hasn't been obliterated.
It's on the side of a parking garage, that will soon be a 6 or 7-story condominium full of lofts. Which means pretty soon this will be gone too.

Detail of red-hot thighs from 414 Greenwich St.

From Washington St., east side between Desbrosses St. & Vestry St.
I still say someone saw Mel Gibson wasted before his arrest and painted this.

Also from Washington St. b/t Desbrosses & Vestry Sts. Best of the bunch.

DUMBO, Brooklyn (down under the Manhattan Bridge overpass, if that's a foreign acronym)

Washington Street, east side, near Vestry Street. TriBeCa, New York
How many stories will this condo building be?

Varick Street looking south from Laight Street pedestrian bridge.
Who ya gonna call?

Collister St., looking south from corner of Laight St.
TriBeCa, New York.
Favored for photo and movie shoots. One of the last regularly deserted streets in Northern TriBeCa.

Part of Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park,
DUMBO, Brooklyn
View from the studios of sebastian a. lane design

3rd Avenue looking south from 67th Street 8pm.

Times Square looking north... 11pm...still packed.

Long Island City, Queens, New York
Newtown Creek
I bet they'll put condos here too. If they don't mind the stench of a 4-star restaurant in TriBeCa every morning, what's the smell of the creek waste water? I think the "scenic river views from picturesque Newtown Creek" could work in some new condo advert.

View from the boat to Liberty Island, southwestern corner of Manhattan.
One of the best views of the city.

Looking east on 42nd Street toward 5th Avenue, from the steps of the north entrance of the New York Public Library.

Holland Tunnel off ramp onto Laight Street at intersection with TriBeCa, New York.

401 Washington St. TriBeCa, New York
View to Hudson River & New Jersey from Laight Street between Washington St. & Greenwich St.
Also soon to be condominiums after all the tenants leases have been "negotiated."

Laight Street, looking west. 8:30 pm
Finally TriBeCa, at least the northern section, has quieted down. Thankfully it will never be as busy and annoying as the southern sections, which are more suburban than my neighborhood.

Laight St. pedestrian bridge, 8:30pm looking southeast to Varick St.

Varick Street looking south, 8:30pm

The Hudson River Line of the Metro-North Railroad, Marble Hill stop looking toward the bridge over Broadway

An old powerplant in Yonkers... somewhere near the Greystone station and the Hudson River Museum

With more photos from outside the boroughs to come...
